Meet Our Instructors!

Passionate and Experienced Dance Professionals

At Rhythm On Main Dance Academy, our team consists of dedicated and experienced dance instructors who are committed to helping students discover their love for dance. We offer a wide range of dance styles and cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. Our goal is to nurture creativity, build confidence, and promote a love for dance in a welcoming and inspiring setting.

Debra Jenkins

Founder/ Director/ Instructor 

Debra has over 35 years experience of dance training, teaching, and performing. She began her dance career at the age of 3 in Concord, NC. In highschool, she was a member of her school’s majorette squad while simultaneously competing in many local pageants attaining various titles. Debra went on to study dance at East Carolina University where she was a member of the ECU dance team. She then continued her dance education at UNC Charlotte where she obtained her Bachelor of Creative Arts degree in dance. She is married to Ross and is the mother of three children: Riley, Anna, and Lawson. Debra’s goal for Rhythm on Main is to share her love and passion for dance with others.

Roxanne W. Smith

Company Director/ Instructor

Roxanne W. Smith is an admired teacher/choreographer in the dance world. Roxanne's dance background began early in life at age 5, she was an award winning dancer for Lenoir Academy of Dance in her teens and is a former North Carolina State Fair Queen. She attended University of Tennessee in Knoxville on dance scholarship. She is a former member of the New Repertory Dance Company, former director of the Halsey dancers, former instructor for Lenoir Academy of Dance, former creator and director of Starsteps Dance Center, and winner of over 50 Competitive Choreography and Entertainment awards during the past 35 years. She is married to Tom and is the mother of four children; Rebecca Longhany, Hayden, Audrey and Olivia. She is also Gigi to two grandchildren; Charlotte (Lottie) and Genevieve Longhany

Megan R. Coffey

Instructor

Megan Coffey is an amazing addition to the Rhythm on Main teaching Staff. She is a Middle School Teacher at Collettsville School who has an outstanding background teaching and working with all age groups.

She is a former award winning company dancer and a former teacher at Starsteps Dance Center. Megan brings spice and experience to the Rhythm classroom for your students and is excited to share her love of music and dance. She is married to Kenneth (KC) and is mother to Lillie, Cortland and Marshall.

Riley Jenkins

Assistant Teacher

Riley Jenkins is a former award winning competition dancer and instructor who joins Debra to bring a youthful spark to dance classes for many age groups. Her positive energy and attention to detail in the classroom keeps parents and students excited about coming to class each week. Her talent and upbeat teaching style will delight your young student. Riley also assists with all aspects of IT assistance and online maintenance.

Teresa A. Larson

Office Manager

Teresa is a former Caldwell County Schools educator of 26 years who has never met a stranger. She spent her career teaching students at Gamewell Elementary and is also a former dance and cheer mom. She is a 12 year cancer fighter/survivor who holds the Rhythm on Main office together and is a wonderful part of our Rhythm Nation Family. She is thrilled to be a part of this exciting opportunity. Mrs. Larson is married to her husband Steve and is mother to her daughter Kayanna.
